The Plus/4 was introduced in June 1984 and priced at US$299 (equivalent to over $700 today). Commodore's intent was to expand the home computer market and sell the Plus/4 to users who were more interested in serious applications than in gaming. It was discontinued in 1985.
I bought this machine about 8 years ago in Milan, from the original owner, who used it in the 80s and then dismissed it. I just cleaned this machine a little bit, tested it and kept until now. It comes with a few accessories.
In this lot, the following items are included:
- 1 x Commodore Plus4 main unit S.N: EA4 118584.
- Original power supply (EU plug).
- The original User Manual (black-cover version in italian edition).
- The original Integrate Software Manual 3+1 (black-cover version in italian edition).
- 1531 Tape recorder.
- Original Commodore Joystick.
- 1 tape.
Video cable is not included!
Note: this Plus4 is in very good conditions, the only drawback to mention is a small crack of the coloured label (visible in the image n.2).
For your knowledge, the serial number EAy xxxxxx means: English production (y = year, xxxxxx = sequential production that year). Thus, this machines is dated 1984. The other production sites were CAy = West Chester (North America), DAy = Germany, HAx = Hong Kong.
To sum up, it is a well-preserved machine with a few hours of use.
